TPJ cuts Kalibaru water supply

Source: The Jakarta Post

JAKARTA: Tap water company PT Thames Pam Jaya (TPJ) announced on Monday that it had cut off the water supply to customers in Kalibaru, North Jakarta, who had not paid their bills for several months and to others who had tampered with water pipes.

The company said in a press release that it had received complaints about water disruptions from Kalibaru residents and had repaired the pipeline.

During the repair work, the company had discovered that many customers had made illegal connections to the pipeline.

"Without tip-offs from the public, it would have been difficult to find the source of water disruption," said customer service and operations director Graham Holt.
